Sussie loves all things Spanish.
Sussie from Denmark came to Spain with her family eleven years ago to visit a recently arrived friend in Coín, Malaga and after just 3 days, felt at home.
They dreamed about living in a tropical country and found a rental house in the village on the inland.
Sussie: I had signed Sasha’s name up for a local primary school, then went on a job interview in a Danish call center. I had a little sandwich – sausage – burger bar that we’d sold a few years before, and stayed home with the kids.’
EWN: How was your transition to Spain like?
Sussie: ‘It was easy and amazing. The Spanish people in the campo were very welcoming and provided us with everything we needed.
EWN: What do you like most about life in Coín?
Sussie: ‘I love the tranquility. I like how people are kind and caring. The weather is also important.
EWN: What do you dislike?
Sussie: I have a lot of problems with the way animals are treated.
EWN: What do you miss most?
Sussie: ‘I miss my family, but I go back every month to see them. I get to eat Danish food and sweets.
EWN: Would you go back to the past?
Sussie: ‘Naaaaa! It would be the last thing I’d choose! I’m content where I am.
