Graciela Rodriguez, an Italian, has been living in Costa del Sol since the past 27 years.
As she said, “I moved to Andalucia to be near my family and enjoy the almost tropical climate.”
Graciela, who moved to Spain from Uruguay in 2010, spent a good number of years living in Montevideo. “It’s a tiny country but it has a highly literate and beautiful coastline with many beach.”
She quickly picked up Spanish due to her Italian heritage, and it was a smooth transition for her when she moved to Spain.
She is a chef at a high-class traditional Italian restaurant. La Campannina This lovely lady, who is fluent in English and Italian, works as a front-of-house at the hotel (located in Estepona and close to Guadalmina).
She loves that there are so many different nationalities in the area where she lives, the Costa del Sol. She enjoys chatting and meeting people from different cultures.
The bureaucracy in Spain can be a major problem for many expats. But Graciela says that she hasn’t experienced this and “nowadays, it’s everywhere. I don’t believe Spanish bureaucracy differs much from other parts Europe.”
Graciela, who has a very busy job in the restaurant industry, has met many people and made some real friends.
