He added that he found a great way to prepare the seeds so they are even healthier.

Viso refers to releasing the mucilage from the chia seed. Mucilage is produced when the seeds are in contact with water.

This is a type of fibre that has many benefits.

The doctor said that mucin is a type soluble fibre which acts as a gel and helps improve digestion. It also offers many health benefits.

“Chia seeds can absorb up to 12x their weight in liquid when soaked. This gives them a gelatinous texture.”

“Chia muclage regulates intestinal transit to reduce constipation and controls appetite, bad cholesterol levels, and glucose peaks,” said Dr. Viso.

The benefits of drinking water include improved digestion, weight loss, better hydration, and a healthier cardiovascular system.

To get the mucilage, the doctor recommends mixing 1 tablespoon of chia with 100 millilitres warm water.

“Cold water slows the process down “Hot water destroys key chia ingredients,” he said.

Stir the mixture well and repeat stirring after 10 minutes.

After the treatment, you should let it rest for 30 minutes at a minimum, but it’s better to leave it for two hours.

If you put it in the refrigerator for 8 hours, you will get the most mucilage. Viso says that it can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days in an airtight container.

What about how you should eat the food? The doctor has some ideas.

You can add muclage gel to smoothies, yogurts, or vegan recipes as an alternative egg.

Viso has added that this is a great thickening agent in sauces and desserts, which can be done in a completely natural way.
