THREE Policia Nacional officers ‘mistakenly’ ate jelly beans impregnated with a drug following a raid on a Fuengirola cannabis club.

In a Malaga Hospital, they were treated for poisoning.

Officers confiscated a number of sweets and jellybeans sold in a coffeeshop after they suspected that the items contained narcotics.

The items are taken to Fuengirola Police Station where they are labelled and placed in bags.

One bag was left unprocessed in a room by accident.

The police reported that after a street incident, a group had returned to their station and discovered the bag of unlabelled gummies.

Three of them helped themselves to the ‘free’ sweets but began to feel unwell and went to hospital.

The patients were diagnosed with poisoning, and released a few days later.

Unknowingly consumed substances are unknown.

In the region, the number of cases where sweets are laced with drugs is on the increase.

In Benalmadena in 2022, La Bomba was found inside 11 kilograms of gummy-bears. La Bomba is a powerful hallucinogen that can be used as an alternative to LSD.
