Carlos Alcaraz of Spain, the world’s No. 1 tennis player has announced his surprise separation from longtime coach Juan Carlos Ferrero.
The partnership won six Grand Slam titles and 24-tour level titles during their seven years together with Ferrero stating that he ‘wished he could have continued’.
The 22-year-old player from El Palmar, Murcia issued on statement on social media in which he said the duo made the decision together and thanked his compatriot for ‘making my childhood dreams come true’.

Alcaraz’s only Grand Slam that he did not win was the Australian Open in Melbourne, which began on January 18, the first Slam event of the new season.
Carlos Alcaraz made a statement via social media.
Alcaraz said in Spanish, “It’s very hard for me to write this blog post.”
After more than seven years of working together, Juanki has decided to part ways with me as coach and player. “Thank you for turning my childhood dreams into reality.”
“We started this road when I just was a boy. For all this time, you’ve been with me in an incredible journey on and off the field. “I have loved every step I’ve taken with you.”
“We’ve reached the top. I think if there is a time to part ways, it should be at that point, where we worked so hard and achieved what we aimed for.” “I have so many great memories, it would be unfair to select just one.”
“You have helped me to grow not only as an athlete, a person but also as an individual. I am most grateful that I was able to enjoy the experience. “I’ll never forget the trip we took together.”
“Now, for us both, is a period of change, of new adventures and new projects. “But I am confident that we will approach these in the correct manner, giving our very best, just as we have always done.”
