Spain’s famous singer Julio Iglesias accused of shocking allegations of sex abuse involving domestic workers

Two women who worked in Julio Iglesias’ mansions, located in the Dominican Republic as well as the Bahamas, have accused the Spanish singer of sexual abuse.

The alleged attacks occurred in 2021.

The 82-year-old Iglesias is accused of forcing a domestic worker to have sexual relations with him.

They reported being groped, insulted and subjected both to verbal and physical abuse.

The allegations were made following an extensive investigation carried out by Eldiario.es You can also find out more about the following: Univision News.

No comment has yet been made by the Madrid-born musician or his legal representatives.

Iglesias allegedly took a woman to his bedroom almost every day for sex, and he did so with the participation and presence of a more senior domestic worker.

The other woman claimed that the singer would kiss and touch her breasts as he pleased, even in normal situations.

Iglesias was at his homes in Punta Cay and Lyford Cay.

The investigation revealed that those responsible for managing the mansions, as well as the staff, were aware of and complicit in the alleged assaults.

The victims sought legal counsel before reporting the crime to an international organisation for human rights and went to that organisation to make a report.

Eldiario.es According to the FBI, their investigation took three years. They have spoken with about 15 women that worked for Iglesias as well as other people.

The victims were mostly working-class women, who rarely left their homes.

While working for Iglesias, they were prohibited from making friends or having a relationship.

The singer’s manager made the final decision.

Medical examinations were required, including gynecological visits and tests to detect sexually transmitted disease.

Iglesias, according to the women who spoke with us, had a temper that made them feel tense and confined in a hierarchical work environment.

There was ‘the staff’ and ‘the ladies’, who could be physiotherapists or the managers, who had a different status.

Iglesias allegedly controlled his staff members’ mobilke phones, what they ate, and subjugated them ‘through fear’.

He humiliated them and blackmailed their emotions when they refused to comply with his sexual demands.

According to Eldiario.esIglesias has a staff that does not allow any vacation.

Some of his guests accompany him on vacations and stays in Spain but they are not permitted to leave the property.

The witnesses described how they were made to submit to him almost daily, including swimming in the ocean with him and massaging him.

In some cases, a female manager also got involved and on some occasions told her employees that such behaviour served to ‘alleviate’ Iglesias’s pain.

The women interviewed stated that their economic vulnerability and social vulnerability were exploited in order to commit a variety abuses.
