In the next few hours, storm clouds will rapidly build across Spain. The most affected areas are likely to be the eastern and southern regions. Forecasters are warning of heavy downpoursAs a new weather pattern crosses the country, there are strong winds and unsettling conditions in many provinces.

According to Spanish weather forecasts, a upper trough that is moving across the Peninsula will trigger storms. This will bring bursts intense rain and gusty wind, particularly in eastern or southern areas.

As unstable air moves into the area, it can cause a sudden shift.

A pool of colder, moving air at altitude causes the change when it encounters warmer temperatures on the surface. This type of setup can lead to storm clouds that form quickly and intense rainfall in short periods.

Forecasters warn some areas may see rainfall rainfall totals Over 20 litres of water per square metre can be produced in a short time, causing localised flooding. This is common in areas that have poor drainage or in urban areas. Although the system will not bring severe weather to all of the United States, it may still disrupt the provinces which are most susceptible to storm activity.

In the south, there is a possibility of strong winds and rain.

The system will also bring strong gusts of wind along with the heavy showers. In the south, this weather pattern may combine with airborne particles to create muddy rain. This is a well-known phenomenon in spring when conditions are unsteady. This weather pattern can cause reduced visibility on the roads, and vehicles are coated with a thin reddish layer.

Spring weather can quickly change

Even though Spain is moving toward brighter and warmer weather, incidents like this show how quickly conditions can change during the early spring. When unstable air masses are present, calm mornings can quickly turn into thunderstorms.

Storms appear to be confined to a small number of provinces and not a widespread event. As always, the intensity of local storms can vary dramatically. Some areas may only experience passing showers, while others will see strong bursts rain and wind.
