Škoda has opened its order books for the latest member of its all-new Kodiaq family – the vRS. The sporting flagship is a follow-up to its predecessor. This means, once again, that up to 7 occupants will be able to experience the vRS. Priced from €63,221/£52,595 and available to order now, the new Kodiaq vRS delivers more power and performance than the previous vRS range-topper, and benefits from all the practicality, comfort and design improvements introduced on the new, second-generation model.

The vRS, as the sports flagship of the Kodiaq line, comes equipped with LED Matrix beam headlights and KESSY Advanced with Open On Approach and Walking Away Locking. Canton sound system is also included, along with an electrically operated boot that features Virtual Pedal.

Powered by a 2.0 TSI petrol engine that develops 265 PS – an increase of 20 PS over the previous model – the new vRS is capable of sprinting from 100kph/0-62 mph in just 6.4 seconds and has a top speed of 230kph/143 mph. The WLTP combined cycle shows that it can achieve a fuel efficiency of 6.95 litres/100km (33.8 mpg). The seven-speed DSG transmits power to the four wheels.

The bespoke vRS Lounge Design Selection includes sports seats with integrated headrests and black microsuede/artificial leather upholstery with red contrast stitching. Standard on both front seats is an electrically adjustable seat with memory. The headlining, dashboard panels and door inserts are finished in black microsuede.

A three-spoke multifunction sport steering wheel is fitted with a red stitching, and the vRS badge is placed on the lowest spoke. Standard are stainless-steel foot pedal covers, while the door sills have Kodiaq lettering.

The front and rear acoustic windows are laminated to improve comfort. Like the other Kodiaqs, the vRS is equipped with both a Virtual Cockpit measuring 26cm/10.25 inches and a 13cm/33cm infotainment monitor that can be used freestanding.

Drive Mode Select comes as standard. It allows drivers to choose from Eco, Comfort and Normal modes. There is also an Off-Road option.

The Kodiaq vRS also has larger front-axle two-piston calipers and ventilated brake disks on both the front and rear axles. The brake calipers come in gloss red.
