Illegal counterfeit items seized in collaboration operation

Seized counterfeit products in collaboration operation

According to both councils, a coordinated police operation on Sunday, August 3 in Torremolinos, and Benalmadena, resulted in 2,324 counterfeit goods and 1 arrest.

The confiscated items included handbags (including trainers), football kits, sports pants, basketball shirts and tracksuits. All of these were suspected to be counterfeit.

The operation was conducted by both local police departments under a new partnership operation. It targeted a hotspot of illegal street vending on the promenade separating the two cities. The crackdown involved 24 officers.

It is not the first time that two police departments have joined forces to combat illegal vending in the area.

The operation formed part of a Special Summer Plan for 2025, which was carried out by the local police in Torremolinos in the months when the population of the town increases due to the arrival of tourists or people with a second home in the city. More similar actions are being planned for the next few weeks.
