La Escalera de Balithazar is an elegant and cosy restaurant in the center of Benahavis. It offers some the best food along the Costa del Sol. The local restaurant is well-known for its high-quality meats and fresh produce.

La Escalera de Balthazar cooks every dish with care on an olive wood charcoal griddle. This results in a rich, smoky taste that brings the best out of every fillet and cut of meat. From grilled prawns, Burgundian snails and Iberian pork loin marinated in apple cider, every bite is rich and full of flavour. Must-try: the slow-cooked lamb shoulder with lemon and thyme.

Menus are updated with seasonal produce from local fishermen and farmers. The daily specials change, and the wine menu pairs well with food. There is also a good selection of classic desserts, including crème brûlée and chocolate mousse.

The service and atmosphere are great, whether it’s a romantic evening for two or a casual dinner with friends. La Escalera de Balthazar has a lovely rooftop terrace, and the prices are fair for the quality of food served.
