MEASURES will be put in place for a safe celebration of San Juan, the night before it takes place in Marbella. This event is set to take place on 23 June.
The regulations include a set of safety, environment and coexistence measures that aim to guarantee the safety during one of most busy festivals in the year.
The local councillor has explained that bonfires under control will be permitted on several beaches in the municipality.

San Pedro Alcantara is one of the places that are authorized. Other locations include Nueva Andalucia (El Cable), El Pinillo (Alicate), and Real de Zaragoza.

Beach bars can also light bonfires, but these must be put out and taken down by 4am, June 24, or they will be fined.
The decree stipulates that wood is the only fuel allowed, and plastics, glass, or other dangerous or polluting substances are prohibited.

From 8pm until 1am, establishments along the beach are allowed to host small live shows or music in a limited format.
San Juan is traditionally held on the shortest night of the year, with mythology stating that ‘strange’ things can happen.
