Ronaldo set to stay at Al-Nassr on his terms.

Ronaldo to stay in Al-Nassr at his own terms

The G.O.A.T Cristiano Ronaldo has said ‘it’s my way or the high way’, as he is set to sign a new contract with Saudi Pro League giants Al-Nassr.

Sources familiar with the negotiations confirm that the five time Ballon d’Or award winner has agreed to a contract extension that could keep him at Riyadh through 2027. The current contract of the Portuguese legend expires in a month. However, both the club and player are eager to extend it, provided that certain conditions are met.

What are those conditions? Ronaldo in the middle of Al-Nassr’s squad.

According to reports Cristiano has stated that his future is dependent on Al-Nassr’s ambitions at the transfer market. He has reportedly asked the club to release a number of current squad members including Aymeric and Wesley. He also demanded that the coach Stefano Pioli, who had been in his position for less than six month, be fired, as well as Fernando Hierro, the former Real Madrid and Spain player.

While there is no formal clause in his contract granting Ronaldo absolute power over transfers, insiders say his influence is “unofficial but absolute.”

“He doesn’t require a clause.” One source said that the club would listen to Ronaldo if he spoke. “Everything is now done through him, directly or indirectly.” Al-Nassr have responded in kind. The club is already restructuring its summer recruitment strategies to meet the superstar’s expectations. Targets reportedly include Colombian winger Luis Díaz and several high-profile reinforcements from Europe, aimed at delivering the league title and success in the AFC Champions League.

Al-Nassr President Musalli Al-Muammar publicly confirmed the club’s commitment in retaining Ronaldo and called him “the Face of Saudi Football.” With 44 goals in all competitions last season, Ronaldo has lived up to his billing on the pitch—breaking records and setting the global spotlight firmly on Saudi Arabia’s football revolution.

We’ll have to wait and see if the 40-year old legend can play on until 2026, or even beyond. The answer will become clearer if Al-Nassr fulfills their promises.

Cristiano doesn’t just stay, he runs the show.
