Portugal’s football star is in a precarious position because he rejected the Club World Cup in the United States and his contract with Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia expires next month.

In an earlier year, FIFA President Gianni Infantino suggested that Portugal captain Ronaldo could join one of the teams involved in the tournament, which begins next Saturday. But, speaking to the media ahead of the final match between his country and Spain in the Nations League on Sunday, evening, in Munich, the forward stated: “I won’t be at the Club World Cup.”

“Some teams reached to me.” You can’t do it all. Some things made sense, others didn’t. “You can’t catch all the balls.” Ronaldo posted Social media users declared that “this chapter was over” after Al-Nassr played his last league game in May. This led to speculation about a possible move.

‘The story? Still being written

But he also wrote “The story?” Still being written. “Grateful for all.” This left the possibility of him joining a new team anywhere in the world.

News reports suggest that Ronaldo may still sign a new contract to stay with the team to which he moved from Manchester United to in 2023.

Al-Nassr gave Ronaldo 200 millions euros in 2024. This is equivalent to 16,6 million euro per month, 3.8million euro per week and 770,000 euro per day.

The BBC mentioned sources who told them the Saudi football team is confident about extending Ronaldo’s deal.

Ronaldo stated that his future decision was “almost” final before Portugal’s Nations League Final against Spain on Sunday (20:30 BST).

Will he visit Brazil?

Spanish Newspaper MarcaLast week,, a Brazilian club allegedly made an offer for Ronaldo.

Botafogo has been linked to the Brazilian club.

Renato Payva replied: “Christmas will only be in December.” You can’t refuse a superstar like Ronaldo if he comes.

“I don’t know anything – I’m just answering the question. As I said, coaches are always striving for excellence. Ronaldo is a goal scoring machine, even in his old age. He would be great in a team which creates chances after opportunities.

99 goals scored in 111 games

After terminating his contract at Manchester United, the striker joined Al-Nassr. Ronaldo’s career goal total is 933 in 1,267 matches since he started playing in 2001. Lionel Messi is the second highest goal scorer in history, with 861 goals scored over 1,098 matches since 2003.

In 111 matches, he has scored 99 times for Al-Nassr. This includes 35 goals in 41 games last season.

Ronaldo also scored the winner Portugal secured its place in the Nations League Final with a 2-1 win over Germany on Wednesday.
