RIP Alfredo: ‘Beloved’ owner of iconic San Pedro restaurant dies as tributes pour in for Marbella ‘legend’ – CSN News

Alfredo de Alcantara, the owner of his restaurant named after him, has passed away.

Alfredo, originally of Jimena is a legend after founding one the most successful restaurants on the Costa del Sol.

Cause of death not disclosed. He is survived by his wife, three children and mother.

Marbella’s Spanish Restaurant is a popular choice for locals as well as tourists. It is one of the most successful restaurants in Marbella’s history.

Marbella mayor Angeles Muñoz wrote in an online tribute: “I would like to express my sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of Alfredo, a businessman and leader of San Pedro Alcántara.

“His restaurant has become an icon of our community, and his dedication and effort have left a mark on everyone.”

“This was the year that he would receive the title Honorary Citizen. I had the honor of passing this recognition on to his son, and he accepted it with great pride.

He takes the love and respect of Marbella with him. We will never forget Alfredo.”

Meanwhile, tributes have flooded in online from locals, with one writing: “San Pedro Alcántara is deeply saddened by the passing of our beloved Alfredo, a great businessman with his emblematic Restaurant Alfredo, where he was always working, with great effort and dedication, also doing great charitable work helping people who asked him for help. Always with smile.”
