The mainland won’t escape Nuria’s impact, with yellow alerts issued for Aragon, Navarra, Balearic Islands, Basque Country, Valencia, Castilla-La Mancha, Castilla y León and Madrid.

The region will be characterized by strong winds, rough sea conditions and heavy rainfall.

The storm will peak on Thursday, and conditions will begin to improve by Friday. However, winds will continue to be strong in northern Spain.

The temperatures will fall in the interior of the peninsula, but increase along the Mediterranean coastline. In some areas such as Murcia and the southeast, the temperature could reach 25C.

Storm Nuria was the fourteenth named hurricane of the season, and the fifth within a month. It follows Jana, Konrad Laurence, and Martinho. However, none of these storms triggered La Palma’s rare red alert.
