Victory a synch for Madrid – Man City in disarray
City played in a state that was almost defeatist from the beginning, without Erling Haaland. Mbappe added insult to injury after the halftime break, when Guardiola’s team looked psychologically defeated. Mbappe weaved beautifully through three City defences before sending the third goal home.
It wasn’t until stoppage time that Nico González had the chance for a conciliatory goal, finishing the game at 3-1.
Kylian Mbappe is still the golden boy of Madrid, having scored 27 goals and three assists in this season. He joins the long list of heroes at the Bernabeu.
