Raul Asencio, the wonderkid of REAL Madrid, was introduced last night only hours after he had lost his appeal in Spain to get a case against child pornography thrown out.
Asencio faces an investigation over the alleged distribution of a sexually-explicit video that involved a minor. The offense is punishable by between one and five year imprisonment.
The 21-year old was still allowed to play in a crucial Champions League match, against Manchester City. This sparked some online backlash.

Speaking of XOne user asked: “When will his conviction be made?” Justice is slow when someone in Madrid is involved.
Asencio won the World Cup in 2014, and a number of people tweeted their congratulations. One wrote: “You’d be in jail if you were any other player.”
Asencio received a video in June 2023 that contained explicit sexual content for a minor.
Two of his teammates, from the youth academy of Madrid, had a sexual experience with two girls at Mogan, in Gran Canaria.
The two girls were minors. They recorded their sexual relations with them.
Asencio, who received the images on his mobile phone, allegedly shared them with another footballer.
Andres Garca, Ferran Ruiz and Juan Rodriguez are the three players of the youth team.
Asencio screened the video without the consent of the girls.
Las Palmas Court ruled yesterday that the appeal of the players’ defendants filed against the Provincial Court ruling was rejected.
The court will continue its investigation into Asencio’s alleged distribution of a video containing explicit sexual content from a minor below 16 years old.
The court has ruled that the defendant is guilty of both the crimes of revealing secrets and child pornography. He could face up to five years in prison if a third-party were to see the video.
The case was started after a woman filed a claim in Gran Canaria, after finding out that a WhatsApp video of her 16 year old daughter had sex.
