Real Madrid welcomes back Xabi Alonso as their manager until 2028

Real Madrid has reappointed Xabi Asono as manager of the team until 2028

Real Madrid announced that after reaching a $1,000,000 agreement with Bayer Leverkusen for the transfer of Xabi Alono, he will be back with them on a 3-year contract worth $7-$9 million per year.

Xabi alonso will take over from Carlo Ancelotti who coached the Spaniard previously. He will begin working with one of most praised clubs in the world in June to prepare for FIFA Club World Cup which awards $125,000,000 to the winner. Ancelotti is heading to Brazil as the first foreign national coach.

Alonso will replace Carlo Ancelotti as Brazil’s new head coach. Alonso was a former Madrid player and announced that he would be leaving Bayer Leverkusen at the beginning of this month. The aforementioned is a statement, Madrid stated that it “announces Xabi Alonso as Real Madrid’s Manager for the next three years, from June 1 2025 to June 30 2028.” Xabi is one of Real Madrid’s greatest legends and the best footballer in the world.

Real Madrid’s most successful coach is back at the club

A statement from the team said Alonso “defended [our] jersey in 236 games between 2009-2014.” In that period, Alonso won six titles, including the 10th European Cup at Lisbon, one European Super Cup and two Copa del Reys.

In the press release, Alonso was also described as a “legend of the Spanish national team with 113 matches in two European Championships (2008 and 2010) and one World Cup (2010).”

He now returns to Real Madrid after making history at Bayer Leverkusen. There, he won the League Cup, and German Super Cup within three seasons.

German news outlet Bild said Alonso’s deal to leave Leverkusen could have cost up to 15 million dollars, but it was based on an exclusive clause in the contract that allows him to move to Madrid and fulfill his lifelong dream.
