Andalusia transforms into a catwalk for elegance on wheels over a period of almost two weeks. This is not really a race, but a celebration of classic cars, the stunning landscapes, delicious gastronomy, and historical enclaves.

Rally the Globe, a highly exclusive event on the international automobile calendar, will conclude on July 3, in Malaga. After travelling 2,200 kilometers along the southern Spanish roads, it began.

This event, which is reminiscent of the high-level sophistication and relaxed atmosphere of the greatest tennis tournaments, or even the Champions Final with VIPs seated in the box, brings participants from around the globe, including many who are connected to the worlds of high society, art, and business. The event is attended by aristocrats from Britain, car collectors, and even the occasional European movie star. All of them share the same passion for driving vehicles that were built before 1977.

Rally the Globe has more to offer than just speed. It’s a lifestyle. The Andalusian route, baptised by the organisation as Carrera Andalucía, combines rural roads, mountain passes and stretches overlooking the Mediterranean with a careful selection of stops in castles, vineyards, restaurants and charming villages.

The vehicles, mechanical diamonds in perfect condition, are always accompanied by a team of logistics for a luxury journey: a van to transport luggage, medical assistance and specialised mechanics as well as accommodation in hotels with four and five stars.

The rally is different from other motorsport events in that it does not exclude couples or groups of friends. They can also bring their families along, as long as the car they are driving was manufactured before 1977 (or 1945 if they fall into a more demanding category). The daily schedule includes at least two regularity tests. Not the fastest car wins but the one that is most precise.

This will be the first time that the rally explores such varied corners of Andalusia as Granada, Jaén, Córdoba, Cádiz or Ronda, beyond its already known relationship with other Spanish regions. This is a unique chance to discover the richness of the South from a different perspective. The rally¡s final stretch will be along the Costa del Sol and into Malaga city.

Rally the Globe is a phenomenon which transcends the hobby that motors are. The car here is merely an excuse. The real protagonists are the journey, shared experience, and luxury without hurry.
