Primera RFEF : Antequera CF closes in on Play-off Places with a Statement Win

In the 27th matchday of Primera RFEF, Antequera CF (Antequera CF) and Juventud de Torremolinos (Juventud de Torremolinos) both achieved impressive wins away to boost their respective ambitions for promotion and survival.

Marbella, however, suffered a setback on Andalucía Day, slipping back to the foot of the third tier of Spanish football after defeat in Sanlúcar.

Nástic 0-1 Antequera

Antequera underlined their play-off credentials on Sunday with a hard-earned win at Gimnàstic de Tarragona.

After last week’s home setback, they responded in the ideal fashion, scoring the vital goal in the 24th minute when Javi Antón’s mishit cross from the right found the net.

They are now just one point behind the top five with a match in hand.

Next weekend, the team will host Ibiza at home, and they’ll be looking to take advantage of this momentum to get into the playoff positions.

Europa 2-3 Torremolinos

Torremolinos won the CE Europa at high altitude on Sunday. This could be a decisive win in their struggle for survival.

Having rescued a dramatic late draw against Hércules last time out, they went one better in Catalonia with an eye-catching attacking display.

The visitors were two goals ahead by the hour mark, before Álex Cano pulled one back.

Pito Camacho won the match in the final minutes of stoppage before the hosts scored a late consolation.

With the statement victory, they are now 16th with 32 points and level with Murcia. They are within touching distance of safety.

Sanluqueño 3-2 Marbella

Elsewhere, on Saturday, Marbella were unable to build on last week’s encouraging win over Algeciras, falling to defeat against Atlético Sanluqueño.

They conceded three goals by the 90th minutes, and only showed some fighting spirit in the stoppage time when they scored twice.

After 27 games and 21 points, they were 11 points behind safety, with only eleven rounds left.
