The ringleaders – a Bolivian from Bolivia and a Columbian from Columbia – were detained by the Valencia Province.
The charges against them include human trafficking with the intention of sexual exploitation and money laundering. They are also accused of drug trafficking, belonging to a criminal organization, and trafficking in drugs.
Websites advertising sexual services were the primary way to attract clients.
Women were sent to ‘work’ in nightclubs and homes controlled by the gang, who also took away their passports.
Detainees were interviewed at several Guardia Civil and Policia Nacional Stations before being brought before a court of investigation.
Officers confiscated cash, mobiles, drugs that were prepared for the customers, drugs to stimulate sexual desire, and documents relating to sexual services performed by victims.
