Paw Prints on My Heart – by Sue Seabury
We were both abandoned and lonely.
We found one another – companionship our aim.
Black, grey and white is our monotonous life
Were painted and transformed with happiness and light.
It doesn’t matter that we are different.
Both in need of affection after their lives have been shattered.
You have four legs, whilst I have only two,
That does not matter, as our love just grew.Your beautiful smile makes me laugh every time.
Your kindness and generosity made my life worthwhile.
It is possible that a dog and owner are not the only two.
But our friendship has made our lives complete.
You’re loyal and loving – a great combination,
No words to describe my loyal canine.
Love at first sight is a phenomenon that occurs right away.
You have truly left pawprints on my heart.
