Police arrest parents in Spain’s Zaragoza after 10-month-old baby tests positive for drugs

Parents arrested in Zaragoza, Spain after their 10-month-old child tests positive for drugs

A couple was arrested by the Policia Nacional (Zaragoza), on April 7, after their daughter, 10 months old, tested positive for both cocaine and marijuana.

A baby of 10 months was taken to hospital for apathy and little response to stimuli.

When the toddler’s test for cocaine and marijuana was positive, the pediatrics section of the hospital notified the police.

The police arrested the parents at 3pm.

Both of them claimed that several of the father’s friends were at the home of the family over the weekend, and they had consumed certain narcotic drugs.

It is possible that the baby accidentally ingested a residue.

The agents in charge asked the court for a warrant to enter their home and search it.

They noted in the report that the house didn’t meet minimum hygienic standards.

While the investigation is ongoing, the couple has been placed at the court’s disposal.
