On Thursday, August 7th, not only are bulls back in Palma’s Coliseo Balear bullring with a lavish cartel that includes Morante de la Puebla, Sebastián Castella and José María Manzanares, who will fight bulls from the prestigious Juan Pedro Domeq ranch, but so are children for the first time since 2017.

The event is sure to please Mallorcans and visitors alike. Thanks to the world-renowned bullfighters, this will be another chance to see Morante De La Puebla, after his recent great success in the Beneficencia fight in Las Ventas.

De Puebla is a Sevillian Bullfighter who made history in Madrid. He cut his ears twice during the Beneficiencia, which closed out Madrid’s San Isidro festival. The masterful victory of the maestro drew thousands to the ring. They carried him on their shoulders for a 2.2 km (approximately 1 mile) journey between Las Ventas and the Wellington Hotel.

In April, the Plaza de Toros de Inca east of Palma de Mallorca sold all 6,000 tickets for the event in record-breaking time.

The return of Miura’s bulls, 100 years after the first bullfight, was the reason for the Inca bullfight to be a full house. 800 children were also able sit in the different sections of the stands with their parents.

Franz Weber Animal Rights Association has opposed the return of minors.

This initiative is deemed by the animal rights organization to be “a dangerous offer” that is intended, according to them, “to “capture “children into a practice which they call “violent.”

The Foundation expressed regret in a press release that the Balearic parliament had approved the amendment to the Balearic Constitution, which repealed a ban imposed on minors by the left-wing previous government, led by socialist Francina Armengol.
