Some 80 portraits of actors, actresses and directors photographed by Italian photographer Angelo Frontoni are on display in Museo de Nerja’s Sala Ana María Márquez.
The exhibition will bring to Nerja many of the most famous stars of 20th century cinema, along with photographs from magazines like Playboy and behind-the-scenes shots of film sets. The faces of Sophia Loren and Marlene Dietrich are among those that greet gallery visitors. Also included are photographs from magazines such as Playboy, behind the scenes shots, and photos taken on film sets.

Angelo Frontoni, born in 1929, began his career in 1957 with a picture of Gina Lollbrigida. She was a virtual unknown. He quickly became one of the most sought-after photographers in the golden years of the city’s Cinecittà.
His black-and-white photography was a huge success, and his colour photographs were equally successful due to his lighting skills. Hollywood praised him for his ability to capture not only the beauty of models, but their sensuality and personalities. Frontoni’s photographs leave an everlasting aura of the stars that he captured – they are suspended in time and transport viewers back to the golden age of Hollywood.
The private collection of Spanish actor Enrique del Pozo is loaned to the Museo de Nerja. The exhibition opened on 23 July, and will be open for free until 14 September.
