New evidence shows Brit who died in Benidorm ‘was driven to the cliff he fell off’ as police try to brush it off as an accident

The family of a Welsh tourist who claims he was killed in Benidorm by foul play, has provided new evidence that supports their theory.

Phone data suggests he may have been driven up to a steep cliff. They believe he then fell from it.

Father-of-four Nathan Osman, 30, from Pontypridd became separated from his friends after going out on the first day of a Benidorm ‘lads’ holiday in September 2024.

He was discovered at the bottom of a 200 metre cliff. The Policia Nacional closed this case, calling it either accidental or suicide.

Nathan died of head and abdominal trauma after falling from a height.

The police said it was ‘a tragic accident’ that occurred after Nathan left his friends to walk back to his hotel room alone.

Nathan’s parents received a 17-page Policia Nacional Report in September. The report ruled out any suspicion of murder.

The rumours that circulated in Benidorm suggested he had been bundled in a car with men wearing balaclavas and then taken to a remote cliff on which his body was later discovered.

Nathan’s family has told Sky News Data from his phone, which was recently recovered, shows that he could not have reached the cliff by foot.

The family claims that they have tracked Nathan’s movements since they got the phone back, two months ago.

“There’s a breakdown inside the app of every 10 minutes – the distance, pace, measurement of pace… every detail you can think of,” Nathan’s brother, Lee Evans, told Sky News.

He said that “His pace was inconsistent with a quick walk or sprint”.

Lee claimed that it was a quicker journey, even though he had to climb uphill for forty minutes. This convinced his family that he must have been in a car.

The family claims that the data from the phone helped them to determine that Nathan died about a half-hour after he had been seen on CCTV walking toward his hotel at dawn.

Margaret, the mother of his son, said that it was “ridiculous” to believe that he would’ve walked there (the cliff) in the pitch black at 4am.

Policia Nacional did not comment.

South Wales Police has told Sky News“We are conducting enquiries on behalf HM Coroner, and a Family Liaison Officer has been appointed to offer support.”
