New Dog Club in Mojácar Brings Canine Companions and Their Humans Together
Dogs in Mojácar and the surrounding areas have a new reason to wag their tails with the launch of the Mojácar Dog Club, an initiative aimed at socialising dogs, building friendships, and advocating for pet-friendly spaces.
The club was founded by dog lover Chris Donald in November 2024. It began as a weekly meet-up on the beach for dogs and humans. ‘We have two dogs of our own, Canela and Miso, and wanted them to socialise with other dogs, so initially we started up a dog socialisation group that met on the beach on a Sunday from 9.30 – 10.30. This started on 17Th November,’ says Chris, who, along with his wife, has long enjoyed the area’s outdoor lifestyle.
Mojácar Dog Club: More Than Just a Walk in the Park
The club is a place for dog owners and their dogs to exchange information, while also showing the Town Hall that a dog park or beach was needed.
Beyond friendly gatherings, the club hopes to highlight the demand for a dedicated dog beach or park in Mojácar. ‘Our goal is to show the Town Hall just how popular and needed a dog-friendly space is,’ he explains.
With plans to build partnerships with local shelters and rescue groups, the club is more than just a social hub; it’s an evolving community dedicated to responsible pet ownership and improving life for Mojácar’s four-legged residents.
