He may be nearly 60, but Mike Tyson still packs a punch – and his workout regime proves it. Read on to find out what the ‘Baddest Man on the Planet’ does to stay fit in 2025!
Once the most feared man in boxing, ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson was known for his explosive power and ruthless fighting style. At his peak, he trained a staggering 50 to 60 hours a week – including a daily routine of 2,500 sit-ups, 2,000 squats, 500 pushups, 500 bench dips, 500 barbell shrugs. He also pretty much lived on pasta, steak, and orange juice – maintaining a physique that sent shivers down opponents’ spines.
Now 58, most would expect the former world heavyweight champion to be putting his feet up – but not Tyson. Talking to Men’s JournalBoxing legend reveals he continues to grind it out every day.
“I’ll still do 200 reps a day – shoulders, abs, sit-ups – usually every morning,” Tyson told Men’s Journal.
Although it isn’t the same as his earlier days, it’s still better than many men his age.
And when Ramadan rolled around, the ‘Baddest Man on the Planet’ adapted his training yet again:
“I don’t train much when the sun is out, so I feel weak now.” “It’s hard to train. But I’m doing some reps,” he said.
Behind the muscles, a man uses exercise to maintain his mental balance. Tyson has spoken out about his challenges post-boxing. It wasn’t easy for Tyson to leave the sport that he loved. But working out, he says, helps maintain his mental health – a knockout coping strategy.
Stay strong and healthy.
