Mijas Pueblo Tourism Office is hosting an exhibition which features the artisanal work of local creators Azahara Rodríguez and Cécile Brillet throughout July.
The show features ceramics, textile design, embroidery and a blend of traditional and contemporary craftsmanship. The exhibition is aimed at integrating local art in the tourism spaces of the municipality.
Azahara Rodríguez, a crochet expert and founder of La Cangrejita Tejedora, presents custom-made garments tailored to individual measurements. “My brand focuses on measurements rather than standard sizes, creating pieces that fit like a second skin,” Rodríguez explained. As a three-year member of Mijas Artisan Association, she finds exhibiting at this tourist-oriented venue “a priviledge”.
Ceramist Cécile Brillet also expressed enthusiasm for the opportunity. “Mijas has a thriving tourist industry all year round, so July is the perfect month to display our work.” She said, “It’s going be amazing.”
The Tourism Department invites visitors and residents to enjoy this free exhibition in a setting that speaks of hospitality, history and art. The Mijas Pueblo Tourism Office is hosting the exhibition, which offers the public a chance to discover the artistic spirit of the town.
