Mijas is once again preparing to welcome the festive season with its beloved Christmas Market, returning for the third consecutive year to the picturesque Plaza de la Constitución. The Market, organised by Public Works Department of the Town Hall, promises Warm and festive atmosphere bringing together local artists, traders, and tourists from near and distant.

This year the market will open on 28 November and be a festival hub until 5 January, welcoming visitors every day from 11 to 19.00. The nine cabins are a wonderful way to showcase the local talents of Mijas artisans and traders. They will feature a variety of handmade gifts, seasonal delights and unique items which capture the spirit and essence of Christmas. Two stalls are operated by two local charities, Piache Mijas and AFA Mijas. This will add a generous touch to the market.

Melisa Ceballos of the Council for Public Works announced the market with this year’s traders and highlighted its importance. “We’ve worked with our local merchants and artisans to create a unique space where visitors and residents can enjoy high-quality craft and food while celebrating the holiday season,” said Ceballos. It’s a chance to not only shop but also to show off the talents that make Mijas special.

The Christmas Market has quickly become more than just a place to buy gifts – it’s a festive gathering point. Visitors can wander between the cabins, savour traditional foods, discover one-of-a-kind handcrafted items, and soak up the joyful atmosphere that transforms the Plaza de la Constitución into a winter wonderland.

It’s a great opportunity for many to combine shopping and community spirit. A portion of the market proceeds goes to local charities. The Mijas Christmas Market has something for everyone, whether you’re looking for unique gifts, enjoying festive treats or just soaking in the season’s cheer.

This festive market will be a highlight in Mijas’ holiday calendar. Its central location, beautiful cabins and carefully selected mix of local talent will invite residents and visitors alike to celebrate Christmas with style.
