It’s hard to imagine a British star of the 1960s, who was a talented singer/actor as well as the embodiment of national spirit.

Maybe Judi Dench would have played Elsie Tanner. Or if Hayley Mills had married Ringo Starr?

What if Cilla had taken her A-levels instead?

Lola Flores, on the other hand, is a unique individual.

María Dolores “Lola” Flores Ruiz (1923 – 1995) was an Andalucian actress, dancer and singer. She died thirty years ago. Her death anniversary is on Wednesday, May 16.

It’s ironic.
