An outbreak of measles was reported in a secondary school located in Mijas, following an earlier one that had occurred at a nursery within the same municipality.
Although both incidents occurred in Mijas there does not seem to be a link between them.
The secondary school confirmed two cases of children under 13 years old who were not MMR vaccinated.

In the nursery school, 10 cases have been confirmed. More reports are possible in both locations within the next few weeks.
As in the older school no babies or young kids had received the MMR shot either because of parental choice or they were too young.
The regional health ministry has said that the outbreak is now under control.
According to authorities, 97% of Malaga children who are of vaccination age received MMR vaccine.
The outbreak of measles was discovered at the nursery school last week.
The first two infected twins were aged 2 years.
In order to track down those who could have been exposed to measles, the ministry implemented contact tracking.
