Business partners Mosh and Dani García held a recruitment event on Thursday, March 3, looking to fill 200 positions for their new Japanese-concept restaurant, due to open in July at the former Aresbank site on Marbella’s Golden Mile.
This event, which was promoted on social media with the support of Marbella City Council, attracted nearly 500 candidates, who brought their CVs to the event and were interviewed.
Talent Director for Dani García Group, Sandra López, placed the focus on certain key values such as humility, warmth, and authenticity over strict qualifications. ‘We train our staff, so experience isn’t everything,’ she says, stressing the need for patience and adaptability in hospitality. The restaurant is hiring for multiple positions, including waiters, bartenders and cleaners. It will open year-round, only serving dinner. It will be open from three to four times a week during the low season and on a daily basis at peak periods.
Plan prioritizes local talent and collaborates with council to help the unemployed, or those in need of a career boost. Candidates will attend mandatory training for the pre-opening in June to ensure smooth launch. The restaurant promises an ‘exquisite’ customer service experience.
Among the hopefuls was Isabel López, a 25-year-old from Estepona, applying as a hostess after previously having worked in retail. Ornela is a 33 year old Argentinean with a decade of experience in hospitality. She was looking for a role as a hostess. Alejandro Pozo from San Pedro was quietly optimistic when it came to a waiter role, and valued the opportunity to show off his skills in person.
