Marbella’s Tim Knight needs help – Costa News Spain

Those British passport holders ‘of a certain age’ who were living in Spain prior to Brexit are still allowed to obtain medical cover by registering with the Spanish Health Authorities using an S1 form.

It’s a shame that some people never did this. They also didn’t get medical insurance. But as long as you are healthy, it shouldn’t be a problem.

If you fall ill, and need medical attention immediately, it is useless to know what you should do. Unless you are extremely lucky, you may find yourself in a serious situation.

Tim Knight is a former executive of a record company, promoter and producer, and more recently, an author. He was popular in bars and restaurants all over Guadalmina (part of Marbella) for many years.

Easily recognises by his trimmed white beard and long flowing pigtail, Tim was a genuine ‘bon viveur’ but like so many of us, as he has grown older (now 80+), so his health has suffered and he had to slow down due to diabetes.

Marbella’s Tim Knight needs help with gangrene on his toe

He has a serious problem now. He has been diagnosed with gangrene on one of his feet. Although he saw a doctor, he was denied immediate access to the social medicine system. It appears that the only way he can get treatment quickly is to pay privately. Friends have therefore set up an a gofundme account which is looking to raise €10,000.

Yes, he should have resolved healthcare earlier, but remember ‘there for the grace of God go I’
