Marbella’s latest shooting: Bullets fired at front door with victim watching through peephole

A 38-year-old man escaped Monday with only a minor injury to his leg after multiple gun shots were fired in the direction of the door leading into his Marbella apartment.

The perpetrator of the crime, a 25-year-old man, fled in a car rental and was arrested by Policia Nacional in Algeciras – some 80 kilometers away.

Around 5.30am, the incident occurred on Calle Roy Boston near Palacio de Congresos in Marbella.

The two men had a history of disputes, and the police were forced to intervene once.

Their animosity is said to be centered around a female.

Marbella Policia Local police officers arrived first at the apartment building and found that multiple bullets were fired at the victim’s front door.

He told police that just moments before he heard footsteps and was curious as to who they were, he peeked through the peephole of the door.

He recognized the visitor who began shooting at chest level through the wooden doors.

The target moved off in time, and only a small graze was caused to his leg.

The gunman- said to be of ‘Arabic’ nationality- ran away and drove off in a blue Seat Ibiza, with CCTV cameras catching his escape.

Just an hour after the attack, he had been arrested in Algeciras.

The latest in a string of shootings on the Costa del Sol is a Swedish rapper Hamza Karimi, who was shot dead in broad daylight in Puerto Banus in October.

This was an organized hit, ordered by a Stockholm-based group. A suspect is in custody.
