Marbella plans to build in Huerta del Prado a building that will be dedicated to the various social organizations operating in the city. This project is a forward-thinking initiative that will equip various collectives with facilities for them to perform their activities within a supportive and encouraging environment.

The 800-square-metre facility provides a natural setting for social work.

Around 800 square metres will be allocated to associations for collaboration efforts between different groups. DEBRA Piel de Mariposa and CADI, among other charities, will benefit from a natural and open environment that makes it easier to integrate work routines and areas for relaxation.

Huerta del Prado is located in a natural and agricultural environment.

The project designers selected an area of land that shows reduced agricultural use within the larger plot, which includes both greenhouse and allotment elements. The placement is done in an area that has a lot of shade to respect the natural landscape and adhere to local planning guidelines.

Council leads collaborative efforts with key charities

The ongoing collaboration will include direct engagement with entities like DEBRA Piel de Mariposa, CADI and other relevant organisations who require the proper infrastructure to develop and sustain their important work.

Design that focuses on therapy, recreation and improved wellbeing

Future building designs will include flexible spaces that allow collectives to perform daily tasks and also provide opportunities for therapy and recreation in a single location. Shared use by distinct social entities fits perfectly with urban planning regulations for green areas. This promotes increased wellbeing for all those involved.

Marbella has a wide range of social services. The plan will fit in well with this portfolio.

The initial phase of the project is dominated by administrative procedures, as authorities focus on completing all necessary formalities in advance of the start-up of construction.
