La Concepcion, a reservoir located between Marbella (west) and Istan (east), is currently at full capacity. It has begun to release water in order to prevent flooding.
This is in stark contrast to just a few months ago when the water level was so low that there was hardly any water remaining.
The reservoir currently holds 57.62 cubic metres of water when its theoretical maximum is 57. According to Hidrosur, the reservoir holds 54 cubic metres.

After the downpours in March, the fill level stood at around 80%, causing a release of water from the reservoir to ‘not exceed the maximum levels’.


The decision has not been made yet, even though it is now completely full.
It is due to the approaching summer season, when consumption is expected to increase significantly.

The stability of the dam has been constantly monitored. Three safeguards were installed to prevent failures.
The reservoir reached its maximum level in 2010
This is the smallest of all the reservoirs in the area, and it empties out much quicker than other ones.
