The III Festival Internacional de Órgano Bach-Marbella continues to spellbind classical music lovers across with its series of exceptional organ recitals, spotlighting the majestic instrument at the historic Parroquia Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación in Marbella.
Organised by Marbella Town Hall, in collaboration with local figures such as Sr Villero and Sr Sampedro (associated with the Asociación Amigos del Órgano del Sol Mayor), this third year covers the 2025 to 2026 season, bringing together famed international organists to perform works by Johann Sebastian Bach and other composers.
Marbella Organ Festival: Part of the festival
One of the festival’s most captivating performances was given by Jan Bokszczanin, a Polish organ professor from the Fryderyk Chopin University Warsaw. On January 18, his performance featured Bach’s complex Baroque masterpieces which highlighted the rich tones produced by the church’s historical organ. Most recently, on February 15, Russian organist Marina Omelchenko from Moscow delivered a standout recital, drawing audiences to experience the powerful acoustics of the Encarnación church.
Performance on 1 March
In the future, there will be more highlights. On March 1 at 5pm, French Organists Eric Lebrun & Marie-Ange Leurent are performing a special 4-hand organ concert. Lebrun, titular organist at Paris’ Notre-Dame-de-Lorette since his early career, teams up with Laurent in a duo celebrated for revitalising the four-hand organ repertoire.
Some past concerts combined solo organ with chamber elements. They covered musical pieces from Bach up to larger selections such as Prokofiev.
Sunday concerts begin at 5pm, and admission is free (although a donation may be suggested to cover costs). This event gives residents and classical music enthusiasts a rare chance to listen to world-class music on the organ in the heart Marbella’s old town. The church’s acoustics, and the instrument itself create a rich and immersive experience.
Marbella is gaining a reputation as an important cultural centre in the Costa del Sol. The concert will be at 5pm at the Parroquia Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación de Marbella.
