Malaga tech startup virtual clothes shopping – never have to go clothes shopping again

Onversed is a startup based in Malaga that has a new technology that will revolutionise fashion shopping. It allows designers to create clothes by using avatars similar to clients, eliminating the requirement for physical products and in-person fittings.

According to Onversed CEO Raquel Pérez, the company creates avatars based on clients’ measurements which enable designers to see how garments would look and suggest adjustments in real time, either online or based on the preferences of the designer or client.

Onversed’s virtual try-ons can be integrated into social media by creating a TikTok filters that allow users to test accessories, like earrings, before they purchase them. A second feature allows customers to upload an image to see if the clothing fits, which will help them decide if they want to buy it. You can access the try-on feature via QR codes and other tools. It allows you to change clothing virtualy. QR-based technology is primarily targeted at advertising. It allows clients to scan codes from ads or posters and instantly try on clothing.

Malaga startup helps companies cut costs and accelerate production

Onversed, a company that was founded with the aim of making technology accessible to the fashion sector, helps reduce costs and increase market entry. Pérez insists that their process allows designers to visualise a garment from a sketch within a day or two, with options to adjust patterns or colours or display the piece on a model or in a specific setting. The startup has also dramatically reduced the time it takes to prototype an entire digital collection from the usual four to five month period to just one.

Onversed began by collaborating with dressmakers, institutions and other businesses to reduce the time required for production. Projects include an AI training shoe used in an advertising campaign, and virtual jewellery designs.

There are many people who enjoy spending a day in the shops trying on a variety of clothes and asking their partner if the bum is too big. But there are also those of us who prefer to do this from the comfort of their own couch. This is a different matter to whether it will actually take off. Malaga’s tech companies are still a force.
