Malaga Christmas Lights are one of the most popular. This year the official lights switch on will take place in Europe on Friday 28th November. This year, the official switch-on takes place on the 28th of November. Plaza De La Constiticion.
This year, the theme is “The Nativity Of Light”. The lights will be on each evening, from 6.30pm to midnight, on weekdays. They will also be on until 2am, on Fridays, Saturdays and Thursdays until 5th January.

This year’s famous sound and lights show will be happening There will be family entertainment in the streets and main squares at 6pm, 8pm, and 10pm.

2.7 Million LED lights
The Malaga Christmas Lights are costing €1.5 million. The display is made up of 32 columns, 16 giant lights, 207 illuminated archways, 36 ground figures and 171 trees.

Malaga Cathedral Illuminations
The Malaga Cathedral is lit up three times a night with its own light show. The display will be projected on the south-facing side of the famous Cathedral tower. This year’s video mapping tells the tale of the fairytale Angel of Light. Smoke machines and robotic moving lights will add to the dramatic effect.
The show will be eight minutes long and takes place every evening at 6.45pm. 8pm.
Malaga Christmas Market
You can find the Christmas market in the park This is a street that runs close to the Plaza de la Marina. Pompidou Centre. Open daily between 12pm and 8pm. You will find figurines, sweets, tambourines and shepherd costumes as well handmade earrings, rings and necklaces for the perfect gift. These markets are a great place to go for a walk and find gifts.
Alameda Avenue
The main Alameda avEnue is decorated The famous Marques de Larios Roundabout is lined with thousands of white lights running through the trees that are the most iconic in the city. You can also enjoy a walk down Calle Larios which is glistening with Christmas magic.

Christmas Concerts
In the heart of the city, there are Christmas concerts in all main streets. Violins, guitars and flutes are just some of the instruments that can be heard at the foot of the Alcazeba, in the Plaza de la Merced or on the long Calle Larios.
