Estepona is in for a hilarious evening of English stand-up comedy on Thursday 25th September. A new lineup of comics will have you laughing from the first line.
Stand-Up Comedy Spain is partnering with Louie Louie Estepona to host the show. Doors open for drinks and pre-show networking at 7:30pm. Stephen Carlin will be the headlining act. A deadpan dynamo, Stewart Lee has named him one of his “Ten best stand-up comedians ever”. Carlin is fresh from touring Asia and Europe. He transforms every day absurdities into twisted masterpieces.
Critics rave that he’s “laconic laced with Red Bull… announcing the arrival of a new comedy original” (Scottish Herald). Fans of his sharp and inventive wit have seen him on Comedy Central’s Alternative Comedy Experience as well as BBC’s Comedy Underground. Carlin has also been a prolific writer, contributing to BBC staples including The Now Show. And his blog is a hilarious look at the life of renowned performer.
Mandy McCarthy opens the show with her warm and funny tales about family chaos, and the humorous challenges of aging. Her stories have been performed all over the world. She is a dominant presence who mixes her incisive observations of life’s pleasures and frustrations into performances which leave audiences in stitches, engaged and empathetic.
James Danielewski, a rising star, brings high-octane, heartwarming energy to his stories about dating disasters and family quirks in the sunny South. A runner-up in the 2024 Komedia New Comedy Award and LGBTQ+ New Comedian of the Year, Chortle calls him “a charming, friendly comedian… an easy-going delight.”
Nik Coppin will be the master of ceremonies. The globetrotting Londoner, based in Brighton, will keep the party going. With over 20 years on the circuit – from Edinburgh Fringe to Hollywood and Southeast Asia – his amiable charm and rapid-fire anecdotes on everything from superheroes to his Barbadian roots have earned him four-and-a-half stars from the Melbourne International Comedy Festival: “Super funny, super fun and charisma up the wazoo.”
