Barça wonderkid Lamine Yamal has officially signed a new deal to stay at FC Barcelona until June 2031, securing his status as one of the club’s highest-paid stars.
FC Barcelona announced Tuesday, May 27 that 17-year old winger Lamine Yamal has renewed his contract through the end of 2030/2031. The deal includes a net salary of around €20 million per season, with performance-based bonuses that could push it even higher. The renewal puts to rest speculation over the teen’s future amid rumoured interest from major clubs, including a reported €200 million offer from PSG and a €275 million offer from Manchester City.

Yamal’s new contract will keep him at Barcelona until his 24th birthday. Joan Laporta, club president, oversaw the signing of the contract at Spotify Camp Nou. Jorge Mendes was also in attendance. After months of negotiations behind the scenes, Barcelona wanted to show Yamal’s increasing importance to their team.
According to Marca, Yamal’s buyout clause remains set at €1 billion, reaffirming his position as one of the few “non-transferable” players in the squad.
Barcelona, despite having a valid contract until 2026 chose to speed up the renewal process and adjust his salary and other clauses to his elite status.
Marca reported that Deco, the sporting director of the club, said “Lamine did not ask to be the most-paid player in the squad. It’s just not his priority.”

Yamal made his first-team debut in April 2023 under then-coach Xavi Hernández, before even turning 16. Yamal has played over 100 times since, and has become an important part of the Barcelona team as well the Spanish national squad.
