Waiters’ race through the streets of La Cala

La Cala’s streets are filled with waiters racing through them

Who will win the title of Fastest waiter in La Cala de Mijas? La Cala de Mijas Lions invite the public to watch the first-ever Waiters’ Race this Saturday.

Teaming up with Mijas council, the Lions are challenging the area’s swiftest waiters and waitresses to dash through La Cala’s streets, balancing a tray with a glass of water, a croissant, and a cup of coffee – all with just one hand. These servers will race for glory and to raise money.

The event is organised by Sandra Tavendale, and the Lions crew. Local bars are buzzing with excitement as they nominate the fastest staff members to compete in the high-stakes competition. Can they reach the finish without tripping over or spilling any liquid? By sponsoring your favourite competitor, you can support the Lions’ charities with every penny that is raised.

The excitement doesn’t end with the race. There will be 50 artisan booths, a Lions shop featuring cakes, hotdogs, cava and live performances.

Every waiter will need sponsors to fuel their charitable spirit. The race starts at 2pm, Saturday March 29. Call Sandra at 663-529-280 to get a sponsor form or pick one up at any of the participating bars. Want to know more about the race, or want to participate? Sandie can be reached at 633-529-280, or you can visit the Lions store in La Cala de Mijas. This exciting battle of speed and skills is not to be missed.
