Mijas Council is launching a comprehensive plan for security during La Cala Fair which takes place between July 22 and 27.
Plan includes an increased deployment of personnel from local police, civil defense, and fire brigade to provide peace of mind for everyone.
About 100 local officers will cover both the night and day shifts. Officers will be present from 7pm to 6pm. Daytime operations will take place between noon and the end of each festival day. The increased policing is designed to ensure a quick and effective response in the event of any incident.
The fire brigade has a team dedicated to the fair and will have an engine ready for emergencies. The fire brigade will inspect all booths, rides and other structures for compliance with safety regulations.
Civil protection volunteers are expected to play an important role in the prevention and assistance of lost children, vulnerable individuals and their families. Civil Protection volunteers will be distributing the bracelets at their stand. Each bracelet includes a number to communicate quickly.
Ana Mata praised the commitment of the forces to ensure a safe fair and congratulated them for their coordination and fluid communications, including the Guardia Civil. The council reminds everyone to obey safety instructions. It also expresses its gratitude to all the professionals who made the La Cala Fair safe.
