A VETERAN motorist was arrested twice in just three days in Murcia and Valencia for driving the wrong way on the motorway.

Cartagena was the first to send out a number of Guardia cars to try and stop the driver.

The Guardia vehicles slowed down the other road users before safely intercepting the ‘kamikaze’ car which was pulled over onto a hard shoulder.

He drove around 20 km in the opposite way, they said.

The man was arrested after refusing to take the breathalyzer test. He was charged with two crimes relating to road safety, reckless driving and refusing the breath test.

The Guardia Civil then discovered that this driver was arrested three days prior for the exact same crime.

He was detained before for driving in the opposite direction on an motorway in Valencia.
