An extradition from Portugal of a man suspected in the murder of a Belfast father and two-year-old John George, who was murdered on the Costa Blanca in December last year has taken place to Spain.
Jonathan ‘Jonny’ Alan Smyth, 26, was named in international arrest warrants, having fled Spain following Mr. George’s disappearance in December.
Smyth, who is from County Antrim in Northern Ireland, has reportedly visited Asia and the Middle East.

When he was arrested, he was in Braga with his girlfriend staying in an Airbnb apartment.
Smyth appeared before the Guimarães Court of Appeal two days later where he said he would not oppose extradition.
It is important to note that the word “you” means “you”. Sunday World Newspapers have reported that he has been driven across the Portugal-Spain Border to a prison at Badajoz in Spain last weekend.
This was before the pending transfer of Alicante Province, and appearance in front of Torrevieja Judge who is responsible for investigating the murder.
A 32-year Czech citizen was arrested in January and released on bail as an alleged accomplice.
John George’s corpse was discovered on 7 January near a road, in Rojales (near Torrevieja).
The 37-yearold was stripped naked, stabbed in his legs and then shot.
John’s parents reported him missing mid-December when he was on vacation in Cabo Roig, on the Orihuela Costa.
