Jennifer Lopez gusto performance in gusty Fuengirola

Jennifer Lopez performs in Fuengirola

Jennifer Lopez’s concert in Fuengirola at the Marenostrum music festival was delayed for over an hour by strong winds. But the Bronx-born diva turned out to be the star of the evening.

JLo told the crowd to “get loud”, and 15,000 people did so at the Sohail Castle. This was her second performance on the Costa del Sol in six years, following her debut in 2019.

Jennifer Lopez faces challenging conditions in Fuengirola

Multiple obstacles were encountered during the concert. The concert was originally scheduled for Malaga’s Athletics Stadium. However, the event was moved to Fuengirola because ticket sales were slower than expected. This resulted in a venue that could only hold 15,000 people, down from the 30,000 capacity. The harsh weather also delayed the gate openings two hours and pushed back the start by 60 minutes. The packed audience was not complaining when Lopez, 55, took to the stage. Despite recent setbacks including her highly publicised divorce with Ben Affleck she showed that she still had what it takes.

JLo opened her two-hour show with “On the Floor” and “Save Me Tonight,” supported by her band, choir and a dozen dancing dancers.

Lopez’s energetic dance moves and her constant costume changes, from a golden bodysuit to an inspired red jumpsuit, and a fringed T-shirt reminiscent of the Rolling Stones, left the audience in awe. Before “Wreckage,” an emotional piano-backed ballad, she took a moment to reflect on her summer’s difficulties and separation.

The night ended with her hit from 2018, “El Anillo”, closing out a triumphant comeback to the Costa del Sol by the icon, whose stunning stage presence had everyone in awe.
