Clarence Jazz Club Torremolinos will close its season 2024/2025 with an enchanting performance by the Julio Botti Quartet presenting “Proyecto Sudamericano.”.
The quartet, led by Julio Botti – a saxophonist and composer who has been nominated for two Latin Grammys – will present an evening of Jazz Tango that is truly innovative.
Botti’s musical journey began at the age 8 in Argentina. He has since spent almost three decades touring across three continents. Botti’s art has been refined in the nightclubs of Havana and on the stages of Madrid. He has collaborated with legends such as Buddy Miles, maestro Pablo Ziegler, and many others. In his lifelong pursuit to perfect Nuevo Tango (a progressive blend between jazz and tango), Botti has travelled from New York all the way to Spain. He is always exploring new musical horizons.
The quartet, which features Julio Botti on tenor saxophone, Marcelo Sáenz on electric guitar, Pablo Alfieri on electric bass, and Javier Forero on drums, will perform a dynamic repertoire which includes nine iconic tangos, a tango standard, and three compositions by Pablo Ziegler.
Botti has received Latin Grammy nominations in 2013 and 2016 for Sax to Tango, the Best Tango Album. This has given him fame as a pioneer of the genre.
Don’t miss the Julio Botti Quintet, who will bring their genre defying sound to Clarence Jazz Club. It is a fitting end to the Clarence Jazz Club season.
Clarence Jazz Club will host the Julio Bootti Quartet at 10 pm on Saturday August 16. Clarence Jazz Club can be found on Calle Danza Invisible 8 in Torremolinos. Tickets are available on the website www.clarencejazzclub.com for between €15 and €18.
