The Centro Cultural de la Cala hosts “Exposición Arte en Resina”, a fascinating solo exhibition by abstract artist Ivica Jurikova. The showcase, which runs until February 9, invites visitors to enjoy art that “captures the light, brings harmony and transforms the space.”
Jurikova, now based in Andalucía, draws profound inspiration from nature’s treasures—particularly natural minerals, geodes, and the mesmerising play of light through crystals. Her beautiful resin paintings incorporate genuine crystals as well as shimmering materials to create luminous, three-dimensional artworks that seem glowing from within. Each piece is not just decoration, but an invitation to dream, feel wonder and reconnect with the magic in the natural world.
Art that crosses the continents
The journey of the artist crosses continents and media. She began her journey in the Czech Republic where she learned the legendary traditions of glassblowing and mastered the art under the guidance of experts. She then refined her craft at the prestigious Pilchuck Glass School in the United States, where collaborations and sales with renowned glassblowers lead to iconic venues like Trump Hotel and Wynn Las Vegas. In Luxembourg, she discovered ceramics and began to explore new textures and forms. She finds her passion in resin art, infused with crystals. Each creation is filled with love, intuition and a desire for joy.
Jurikova’s artist statement states: “I create art in order to bring beauty, wonder, and light into the world.” These pieces create harmony and uplift the spirit. They also remind us that there is beauty everywhere.
