The victim, 29, was attacked by what was described as a metal object which caused ‘prolific’ bleeding.

After the attacker attacked her from behind, several witnesses including her boyfriend saw the attack. He then fled towards Calle Blanquerias.

The man who stole nothing is not known to have been the cause of the incident.

Importantly, the boyfriend gave police a detailed description. They believed that it was a man who slept out in the Turia riverbed every night.

The victim was transported to the Valencia Clinical Hospital while the hunt for the attacker began.

The suspect was seen by several witnesses walking towards Calle Conde Trenor before the attack, displaying an aggressive attitude that made them fear for their own safety.

A Policia Local patrol on the Plaza de la Virgen spotted a bloody man at around 3.30pm.

Videos and photos were shown to the woman’s boyfriend in order to confirm that he was indeed the attacker.

The violent vagrant then was arrested and brought in front of a court.
